Everdale is a non-profit organic farm and environmental learning centre with staff, summer interns and WOOFERS. An hour from Toronto near Erin, the farm has an Open House every Saturday, June - September.The Environmental Learning Centre runs sustainable living workshops including organic gardening, straw bale construction, biodiesel, and sustainable home systems.Annual events include Seedy Saturday for gardeners to exchange and sell heritage seeds and organic seedlings, an Autumn Harvest Picnic and “Get Dirty Daysâ€? where the whole family can try out farming. Activities on site for children to explore include a labyrinth, nature trails and gardens. Everdale is the permanent site of Home Alive!, the demonstration model home that employs straw bale construction, grey water, solar and wind power and energy efficient appliances.Open house and tours General Admission is $5 adults/ $2 children. Separate fees for workshops.ÂÂ
